Prints & frames

A smooth poster sheet and a textured fine art paper sheet are compared, with labels noting that specifications vary.

A matte sheet scatters light in several directions while a glossy sheet produces a stronger directional reflection.

Fine parallel image lines are compared with a strongly textured paper surface to show possible visual competition.

A three-dimensional stretched canvas is compared with a paper print protected inside a matted frame.

A thin rigid metal image panel is shown in relation to a rear mounting block and the wall standoff.

Nested rectangles distinguish the outside frame dimensions, the sheet fitting size and the smaller visible mat opening.

Two framed small artworks compare a narrow mat margin with a substantially wider mat margin.

A single mat is compared with a double mat that shows a narrow terracotta reveal at the image opening.

An identical muted blue image is shown against bright white and warm ivory mats.

A square print opening is centered in a taller rectangular frame with larger margins above and below.

A canvas face is surrounded by a narrow dark shadow gap inside a wood float frame.

Two transparent glazing panels compare glass weight and brittleness with acrylic lightness and susceptibility to scratches.

Some ultraviolet light is blocked at a glazing layer while another light path continues toward the print, illustrating protection limits.

A light ray reflects from framed glazing toward a viewer; an arrow indicates moving the source or changing the angle.

A frame cross section separates glazing, spacer, textured artwork and backing, showing why depth must accommodate the entire stack.

Two specification cards distinguish acid-free claims from lignin-free fiber composition claims.

A paper print is attached near its upper edge by two small illustrative hinges while the lower sheet remains free to move.

An irregular textured object beside a framing consultation card identifies depth, fragility and mounting as reasons for professional help.

An irregular deckled sheet is floated on a backing within a frame so that its entire paper edge remains visible.

The same schematic black-and-white architectural image is shown in dark, natural wood and white frame profiles.

A warm wood frame relates to a terracotta accent within a colorful botanical composition.

A slim dark frame profile is compared with a broad wood profile around similar green image fields.

The rear of a frame shows backing, retaining tabs, side fixings and a hanging wire for a whole-frame check.

A sheet is measured across width and height, with a note card for recording both dimensions and the unit.

Nested bleed, trim and safe-area rectangles demonstrate where edge color may be cut and important details should remain.

A concrete resolution example divides 3600 pixels by 12 printed inches to calculate 300 pixels per inch.

A screen and printed proof display slightly different versions of three swatches, inviting comparison under consistent conditions.

A phone image shows a crop window, which is transferred to the chosen small print shape.

A long panoramic landscape is overlaid with a narrow crop window to show how a standard frame can remove much of the scene.

A delivered print is laid flat and its corners and surface are highlighted for inspection before framing.
