Witches' Ball Costumes
2004
The 2004 Witches' Ball had a theme of "The Elements" (earth, air , fire, water and spirit). So everyone was encouraged to base their costumes on that. I chose fire and came up with the phoenix costume (top). I don't sew, so it wasn't easy. The headpiece took a long time to do as well. I tied for the grand prize in the "Fire" division of the costume contest. I got a lot of complements on the headpiece. Brooks decided to go with water, but was at a loss as to what to do. I came up with the concept of going as the ocean (bottom). He liked that, so I figured out how to implement it. He did the designs on the old sheet and I made him a purple coral crown to pin to his crazy blue wig. He won the "Water" division of the costume contest. We were both really amused that the off the cuff home made costume we concocted was so well received. |
