This one is a one-day wonder. It's unusual for me to do a digital piece from start to finish in one day. The idea came to me after a discussion on an artist mailing list about there being far fewer mermen than mermaids in fantasy art. I decided to add one to the population. This one began as a pencil work which was then scanned and painted in Paintshop Pro 6. I also did some filtering on it to get the colors and look I wanted on the background. I can't offer this one up on merchandise or anything. The original was, unfortunately, eaten by my computer and this is all that's left. I may do another version eventually so I can offer it.
