This piece and others with it in the gallery were
all spawned out of a discussion of the concept of "grok" from Robert
Heinlein's book "Stranger in a Strange Land." I hang out with a spiritual
group that began as part of the Church of All Worlds which was founded based
on some of the principals evident in the group of the same name in
Heinlein's book. I mentioned that I had enjoyed the book so much when I had
finally read it that I intended to add some "grok" inspired designs to the
Cafe Press store. As often happens with my nest-mates the conversation went
into pun war mode and the laughter began to rise also raising eyebrows in
the coffee house where we meet.
As with most things that appear on the Cafe Press store, there are a
couple of versions of this. I'm only showing the original "light shirt"
uncensored version of it here. There is also a black box censored version
and a version with just the rainbow filled silhouettes of the dancers. You
can see the others by visiting the shop. The link is below .
